I purchased several WWII-related items together.
This is the first time I've seen this particular item, but it might be an even older item.

Unlike the issued watch cap
This is a shallow knit cap made with a loose gauge knit.

It has the texture of old wool and is sturdily made.
The top is a tapered type.

The braided detail on the rolled-up back section also adds to the overall look.

It has a shallow fit.
There is extra room in the roll section.
This size is suitable for people with a head circumference of around 58cm.

More than a typical watch cap
I think it's a rare item that's unlikely to be found.
