I'd be happy if the thermal shirt came in sizes L or XL.
They all shrunk after being put in the dryer.

The same applies here as well.
If you wash it and put it in the dryer for a few hours...
The length can also be shortened.

Stains and dirt from age
I think it will soften up to some extent with washing.
Why not just soak and bleach it?
I think it would be fine to change the color from a pale yellow (which is the original color) to pure white, including the dirt.
