Product Description

60's Vietnam Tour Jacket, faded brown, size M

Vietnam Tour Jacket
Vietnam jacket
68 - 69

This item is in a condition with no parts replaced.
This is a Vietnamese-style jacket with an overall faded brown body.

The zipper is YKK.
It works well and is undamaged.

The actual size is approximately a medium.
This is a long-length type.

There is a tear in the collar.
It didn't seem to spread out much when worn normally, so it didn't bother me that much.
We will sell it as is, without making any alterations.
It has been cleaned and is in good condition.

Let me share an episode with you.
I will write in a little more detail.

This Vietnam War-era jacket is a fresh find from our recent sourcing trip to the US.
There was a place I usually avoided even within the area I frequented.
It took too long to get there.
Moreover, there was only one store that seemed to sell clothes.
It's a risky town to visit if you're looking for something.
(In reality, it's a place that's neither a town nor a village, only two blocks long.)

It's technically a military shop, but
It was a building that resembled a mountain lodge.
I walked around the store, but everything was so expensive that I couldn't afford anything.
Except for one point (G-1)
When I realized there was nothing I could buy and was about to pay at the register...
I noticed a Vietnamese jacket hanging on the wall, covered with a clear plastic bag.
The tag reads "Not For Sale..."
I felt a connection to it, and after negotiations, I was able to bring it home.
I heard that a veteran brought something in to the store some time ago and they bought it.
It seems they kept it at this shop for about 15 years after that.

The color is what really stands out.
I couldn't tell for sure in the dimly lit shop.
I checked outside and thought it was brown.

It's safest to assume that the black has faded overall.
Even the areas that aren't exposed to light have a color that's fairly close to brown.
The fact that the embroidery hasn't faded made me think that the fabric might have originally been a brownish color.
Brown color for the jacket, gradient color on the back, brown zipper tape, etc.
The color scheme feels like it was made to match the fabric.

Was the fabric actually like that even before it was tailored?
I can't tell if it's due to aging or not.
Either way, I think it will be a special piece that truly embodies the spirit of vintage.

After purchase
Dry cleaning
It has been thoroughly cleaned and all stains removed.

The Vietnam jacket I sold the other day was in very good condition and completely black.
I think it will be easier to understand if you compare them.
Please consider this item as something completely different from black.

I'd love to
