DETAIL
NAVAJO RUG GRAYFIELD AND ORANGE ART RARE...74cm/58cm
c.1930
Navajo rug
Navajo rugs of this size with this kind of design are extremely rare.
A square Grayfield in the center
Orange zigzag pattern / Black border
The selvedge cord is still in pristine condition.
I think the brown (or pinkish) areas remaining in Grayfield are Weaver's markings.
And the multiple lazy lines, which seem to have been deliberately left in place, are artistic.
Navajo rugs are handmade textiles, woven entirely by a single craftsman using natural plant dyes.
The vibrant colors unique to natural dyes and the meticulous handcrafting give these pieces a rich antique charm that develops over time.
Navajo rugs, which can be used as a single accent piece, blend Japanese and Western styles and are effective when combined with other genres, so please keep that in mind when you imagine how they might look.
I think it would match well with wood-based furniture such as flower stands, and of course, it would also look great in an entryway where you welcome guests.
The size, which makes it easy to hang on the wall, is also a major appeal.
As I continue to discover value in things, encountering this rug has been a very valuable experience.
This is a special rug, so please consider it at this opportunity.
