This is an old work coat.

The eggplant-colored part
Thin, shirt-like cotton fabric
The inside edge of the pocket is made of gauze fabric.

The sewn-on label has disappeared.
These fabric tags have a nice, distinctive look.

As an unusual detail
In addition to the four front buttons
There are buttons on each side of the hem.
